Centrally located between Savannah and Jacksonville, St Simon’s Island and adjacent Sea Island have been a summer haven for well-heeled Atlantans; the remoteness of both idyllic places has served to protect them from over development, but has also made any design and construction decisions a real challenge. Rising to meet that need, IDAC (Island Design and Architecture Center) provided both luxury design product and services to coastal Georgia, northern Florida and southern South Carolina. Offering complete design and material specification services, the extensive array of product was integrated into a 26,000 square foot facility which housed multiple showrooms and offices radiating from a center atrium which also functioned as a meeting place for island functions. Ambitious in scope, the center was designed and opened in less than a year, and featured product from every niche of residential construction and interior design.
